The Embodied Mind
Zoe Drayson is a graduate student in the Bristol philosophy department. On 6 November 2008 she broadcast her essay on the 'embodied mind' on Radio 3, as part of its long-running series 'The Essay' as one of its 'New Generation Thinkers'. In this essay she explores the role of the body and the environment in producing intelligent behaviour. Her broadcast is not available as a podcast (BBC rules, I'm afraid), but this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00f87rb will take you to the page of the Radio 3 website where you can access the streaming version of Zoe's talk. (Hint: scroll down to below the picture of the hunky bloke (who is he then, Zoe?), and you'll see the 'click to play' button—ignore the iPlayer claim at the top of the page about the broadcast not being available.)
